Mount a disk to a virtual machine

Is your virtual machine running?
To mount a disk to a virtual machine it must be running, see start a virtual machine if it isn't already booted.

1. Select Compute -> Virtual Machines from the left sidebar
2. Select the virtual machine you wish to mount a disk to
3. From overview page select Disks -> System disks from the navbar below the virtual machines hostname
4. Select the disk you wish to mount
5. Select Attach to virtual machine from the Attachment actions side menu

The disk will now be mounted and be available for use within your virtual machine.

Detach a disk from a virtual machine

Is your virtual machine running?
To detach a disk from a virtual machine it must be running, see start a virtual machine if it isn't already booted.

1. Select Compute -> Virtual Machines from the left sidebar
2. Select the virtual machine you wish to mount a disk to
3. From overview page select Disks -> System disks from the navbar below the virtual machines hostname
4. Select the disk you wish to mount
5. Select Detach from virtual machine from the Attachment actions side menu

The disk will now be detached from the virtual machine in question.
