Network Interface Management

Create a new network interface

Prerequisite:
To use a virtual network you must have created it first.

  1. Select Compute -> Virtual Machines from the left sidebar
  2. Select Configuration -> Network interfaces from the virtual machine navbar
  3. Choose the network this interface will connect to
  4. Choose a speed profile
  5. Click the Save button

A network interface will then be created with its Mac address visible in the interfaces table. If the machine is running then the network interface will not automatically attach, see attach a network interface to a virtual machine.

Attach a network interface to a virtual machine

Is the virtual machine running?:
To attach an interface to a machine it must first be running, see start a virtual machine.

  1. Select Compute -> Virtual Machines from the left sidebar
  2. Select Configuration -> Network interfaces from the virtual machine navbar
  3. Choose the network this interface you wish to attach
  4. Click Attach to virtual machine from the actions sidebar

The interface will then be attached to your virtual machine.

Detach a network interface from a virtual machine

  1. Select Compute -> Virtual Machines from the left sidebar
  2. Select Configuration -> Network interfaces from the virtual machine navbar
  3. Choose the network this interface you wish to detach
  4. Click Detach from virtual machine from the actions sidebar

The interface will then be detached from your virtual machine.

Delete a network interface

  1. Select Compute -> Virtual Machines from the left sidebar
  2. Select Configuration -> Network interfaces from the virtual machine navbar
  3. Choose the network this interface you wish to detach
  4. Click Detach from virtual machine from the actions sidebar

The interface will then be detached from your virtual machine.
